I Fiumi Acquaviva

You love Corsican wines, but do you know the wines of Balagne?
Here we are in Haute-Corse. It's on this north-western part of the island, in Calenzana, just 10 minutes from Calvi, that our vines sit peacefully between the sea and the mountains.
In 1961, my grandfather thought planting vines was an intriguing and interesting idea. It was a way of anchoring ourselves in history through wine-growing land, with a very tempting proposition for Nature, the vine: that of quenching your thirst with the sea spray from the coast while feeding on the fresh chlorophyll of the neighbouring forests.
A Corsican wine estate was born: Domaine Figarella.
Our wine estate in Calenzana is a family story, a story of transmission. My father himself taught me the know-how in the vineyard and in the winery, and since then we've been working to develop it.

My Acquaviva family's wine estate has expanded. Young vines have been planted, others have been restored, farming practices have evolved and attitudes have changed.

Now it's my turn to cultivate 20 hectares of vines, which means passion, care and kindness. I took the plunge in 2006, after completing my studies in Viticulture/Oenology, by creating Domaine A Ronca. I took over some of the family plots, all of which were planted with endemic Corsican grape varieties.

Since then, I've been bottling all the love I have for my job, from the vine to the cellar, but also for our terroir, the AOP Corse Calvi.
I've had this philosophy since I was 7 years old, and my role as a winegrower is also to ensure that the vines remain healthy, so that the ecosystem can develop properly and the wine can be drunk healthily.
In 2010, the vineyard officially received the 'organic farming' label.
The two estates are now grouped together under the EARL I Fiumi Acquaviva, and the vineyard covers 40 hectares.

    A Ronca Rouge 2020
Red - Vin de Corse - Corse

The attack of this cuvée, with its fresh notes of green herbs and hops, is crisp and biting. A decisive palate marked by citrus zest, such as blood orange, with wiser outlines reminiscent of intoxicating fruit macerations.
